2-15-24 THOUGHTS
Speaking boldly, and right, clear speaking from sanctified hearts is our thought for the morning. If we are devoted to prayer, and Christ is set apart in our hearts, we ought to have something to say! Peter says it’s “the sense for the hope that is in you.” THAT WE SPEAK is assumed in the words below. OUR READINESS, our knowing God’s plan in Christ Jesus, and having a CHRIST SANCTIFIED HEART on display. Paul said “I am ready/eager” just before he said “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” Rom1:16 Verse 5 of Col 4is our charge! We are talking about “fruit bearing” this morning. Fruit of the most essential need!
Col 4:2-6 Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; 3 praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned; 4 that I may make it clear in the way I ought to speak. 5 Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. 6 Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.
1Pet 3:15 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always [being] ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;
My Prayer:
May the joy of Jesus saving be so powerful within us that we will speak that joy spontaneously to all we engage. Help us to keep alert to the possibilities that cross our paths. Help us to devote ourselves to prayer, knowing that our opportunities will be magnified, and that readiness in our lips and souls will be more powerful. Give us always, love and humbleness of person to be effective. Give us eagerness and zeal and aliveness of soul. Teach us to enjoy this process! In the name of our Lord Jesus, Amen.
